Treat Yo’Self Thursday: Plaster Your Face With Asprin!
Welcome to another edition of TREAT YO’SELF THURSDAY, the weekly DIY beauty treatment that you can do at home and on a budget!
So it’s 11pm and I just got home from another 16-hour day (pro tip: if you want to have a fulfilling and enjoyable life, I do not recommend grad school).
Basically, I need to TREAT MYSELF, and I bet you do too.
I’m about to go settle into the bathtub with a glass (bottle) of wine to ponder my regrettable life choices and try to remember what it feels like to be outside during daylight hours, but before I do, here is a quick and dirty DIY Aspirin face mask. I like to use this mask when I’m breaking out since it helps to reduce inflammation and acne scarring, and is also exfoliating enough to make my skin feel smooth and look brighter!
What you need:
- A few uncoated Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) tablets
- Several drops of water
- Honey (or aloe or plain yogurt). This is optional, but helps to keep your mask from flaking off your face.
Dissolve the Aspirin with a few drops of water and add a dollop of honey. Mix it all together in your hand (or some sort of container if you’re not an animal) and slap it on your face. I keep it on for about an hour. Remove in gentle, circular motions for a more exfoliating effect, or simply wipe away with warm water.
(If you’re not sure how you react to Aspirin, I would do a spot test on the inside of your arm before smearing it all over your face.)
I hope you like this mask, and remember to TREAT YO’SELF this Thursday, I know I will be!
Are you going to try this one? Any questions, or suggestions for what you’d like to see next week? Leave me a comment!
