Treat Yo’Self Thursday: Give Your Feet A Scrub!

Treat Yo’Self Thursday: Give Your Feet A Scrub!

Welcome back to Treat Yo’Self Thursday!

Summer is winding down here, and it’s almost time to start examining my life choice to still be wearing flip flops, but  before I do I couldn’t help but notice that my feet are looking a little rough post-outdoor summer antics.

I can’t be the only one with “summer feet,” as I have decided to call them instead of the more accurate “dry, cracked and peeling feet with some residual dirt that a simple shower cannot seem to tackle,” so since I treated myself to a little at-home pedicure this morning, I thought I would share an exfoliating foot scrub I made that left my feet feeling alive.

All I used is:
-         1 cup course sea salt
-         A few Tbsp of oil (I used olive, you do you)
-         A few drops of peppermint oil or extract

Add as much oil as you want to get the consistency you like, I used about 4Tbsp.

You could add anything to this simple scrub! Lemon juice would be nice, or honey to make it into more of a paste if that is what you prefer!

Mix those together and apply after a shower or bath in circular motions all over your feet, focusing on the problem areas. Then just rinse and sock up (to lock in the moisture) and voila!

I will spare you before and after pictures of my feet, but this scrub did a nice job on softening my rough cracked heels as well as moisturizing my feet overall and the peppermint was very refreshing.

I hope you try this foot scrub, and remember to be careful when using oil-based products on your feet in the bathtub or shower, you don’t want to have to treat yourself to a hospital visit this Thursday!

Will you be trying this foot scrub at home? Let me know what you think, and feel free to suggest other DIY beauty ideas you’d like us to feature!
