Treat Yo’Self Thursday: Avocado Hair Mask!
Is it Thursday again already? Time sure does fly… but you know what that means? It’s time to TREAT YO’SELF!
This Thursday I want to share a quick, DIY, all-natural hair mask that will nourish and moisturize dry and damaged hair (which I have no shortage of due to the hair fail trifecta of color treating, heat styling and infrequent trims).
I’ve seen dozens of variations on this recipe, but as you may have gathered I like to keep things cheap and simple. All you need is a single avocado and 2 tbsp of oil (I use olive oil, though I’ve read this can lighten color treated hair, so you could substitute jojoba oil, or whatever you know works for you!).
Mash the avocado up with the oil and apply to clean, damp hair. I focus on my ends as that is where I have the most damage, but you can massage this mixture all throughout your hair and scalp. Put on a shower cap or put you hair up in a bun if you wish and leave it on for 20 minutes or so. Rinse out with warm water in the shower, and there you have it! Moisturized locks that will radiate health and shine!
BONUS: Let’s be real, I made guac with the leftovers…double treat yo’ self!
Have a great Thursday everyone, and let me know how you’ve been treating yourself lately in the comments!
