Kiehl’s Famous ‘Midnight Recovery’ Will Make You Glow
Working in the beauty industry, I can never stop myself from asking people about their “holy grail” products. The products they could never live without, the products they are buying three at a time just in case. One product I am constantly hearing on these lists is Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It is one of the brand’s top selling products and people go absolutely nuts for it. I decided to try it for the first time last winter, not really knowing what to expect. Slather my face in oil even though I have combination skin with occasional breakouts? Really!? But I did. And I became obsessed.
The promises of the product are to regenerate, repair, and replenish for smoother, healthier skin. The key ingredients are calming lavender oil (which also adds to the heavenly scent), evening primrose oil, and squalane. It is 99.8% naturally derived and paraben-free, which is always an added bonus.
The thing I love the most about Midnight Recovery Concentrate is the instant gratification. You put it on at night, wake up, and your face is glowing like a tween in love. I mean, literally, I have never been so glowy in my life as when I use this. I also can’t think of any other product that gave me such instant results. My skin feels incredibly soft and my makeup goes on completely smooth.
My only complaint is that it can be a little too moisturizing, which I learned after layering it on underneath a moisturizer. For combination-oily skin or those prone to break outs, I would recommend using it on its own, otherwise you may wake up with beautiful glowing skin and a new pimple, as I did every time I used both together. Through trial and error, I’ve found the best routine for my skin is to use it once or twice a week during summer, and every other night during the colder months, but this is entirely dependent on your own skin.
The best part? You can stop by any Kiehl’s counter and pick up a free sample!
