“The Vampire Diaries” is one of the most popular series to come out of the recent vampire and supernatural creatures craze, and with good reason. In addition to being insanely addictive, the costumes on the show are phenomenal! With so many fashionable women and time periods, the inspiration is endless. So much inspiration can be found in just one woman: Nina Dobrev (though to be fair, she does play two characters). Looking at the different costumes Nina wears and personalities she portrays, almost any woman can relate, no matter her style!

Elena Gilbert

Elena’s style is generally quite casual. She’s always rocking a great outfit that’s perfect for class: comfy and cute! Her look is very natural and typical girl next door. Her wardrobe is perfect for the girl on the go or for someone who doesn’t want to put a whole lot of hassle into their clothing. Pair some jeans and Chucks with a jewel-toned top to mirror Elena. An amulet necklace is the perfect way to accessorize and pay homage to Esther’s necklace that Elena wears throughout the series.

Katherine Pierce (Victorian)

Katherine is Elena’s doppelganger and is also portrayed by Nina Dobrev. Though Katherine’s Victorian dresses are beautiful, they’re probably not what the modern girl wants to wear on a daily basis. It’s easy to revamp this look by finding a pretty lace dress and pairing it with a dainty cameo necklace.

Katherine Pierce (in leather!)

When she’s not in Victorian garb, Katherine dons a much spicier wardrobe than Elena. Her wardrobe is full of tight clothing like leather pants and jackets. Her clothing would be a perfect inspiration for someone with edgier style or for a fun night out. These deep, oxblood leather pants can be paired with a simple top, fantastic booties, and a fierce leather jacket. Finish it off with the perfect deep red lipstick.
