Betsey Johnson is back!

Y’all remember when we covered her bankruptcy and the closing of the majority of her freestanding retail locations, right? I know as I walked through the sales all over Manhattan I shed a few tears; I grew up lusting after her perfect tea dresses and hoped that someday my bridesmaids could don them for my wedding. I was fearful for the future of fashion without her zany spunk.

But alas, after a birthday bash showcase during New York Fashion Week and working hard for months, the Betsey Johnson empire is working its way back up to where it was. Her new line, designed with the help of the Levy Group, is less kitschy, more chic than her norm, but still punky and full of character! And at a much more affordable price point of $99-$249, how could you not be thrilled?

The latest step in her return? The relaunch of her website! As opposed to the former hot pink and floral design, this is easier on the eyes with a white backdrop and her “punky pink” font. Being that the dresses showcased were for the Spring 2013 season, those aren’t available on the site yet, but you’re still able to find jewelry, bags, accessories, intimates and outerwear. As for the iconic tiered lace tea dresses? While Amazon and Ebay seem to have a handful, I’m crossing my fingers for those to come back around, preferably within the new price points.
